Cristina estudió antropología y economía en Bogotá, donde nació y vive hoy en día. Hizo una maestría en antropología en Londres y su trabajo se ha centrado en explorar la relación entre los mundos humano y vegetal. Ha trabajado como consultora e investigadora en proyectos de conservación participativa de la biodiversidad y patrimonio agroalimentario, en los que la comida ha sido el eje y a su vez la clave para comprender la dimensión biocultural del territorio. Actualmente está desarrollando una investigación acerca de la relación entre los procesos metabólicos que comparten humanos y no humanos, y que se ven reflejados tanto en el paisaje como en ciertas técnicas culinarias. Su reciente participación en dos residencias artísticas (Centre International d’Art et du Paysage -Francia- e Institut Furkablick -Suiza-) la ha llevado a indagar sobre la relación entre arte y antropología, y en ese cruce a crear una práctica híbrida que involucra el cuerpo en movimiento -o quieto-, la etnografía, la imaginación, la atención y el alimento.

Cristina studied anthropology and economics in Bogotá, where she was born and lives today. She completed her masters degree in anthropology in London and her work has centered around the relationship between humans and plants. She has worked as a consultant and researcher on various projects concerning conservation and agrofood patrimony. Food and nutrition have formed the axis around which her research takes place while also functioning as the key to understanding the biocultural dimension of our environment. Currently, Consuegra is investigating the relationship between metabolic processes that are shared between humans and nonhumans, and how these are reflected not just in our landscape, but in culinary techniques as well. Her recent participation in two artistic residencies (the Centre International d’Art et du Paysage, France, and the Institut Furkablick, Switzerland) has driven her to investigate the intersectionality of art and anthropology. This investigation has yielded a hybrid practice for Consuegra, one which synthesizes ethnography, the imagination, attention, nutrition, and bodies both static and in motion.
