Obtuvo su MA en el Royal College of Art de Londres en 2010. Su práctica entrelaza dibujo, texto, escultura, libros de artista e investigación de archivo. Su trabajo gira alrededor de historias olvidadas, e interpretaciones aficionadas e inexactas de material histórico. Su interés en la cultura material y el patrimonio la han llevado a relacionarse con otras disciplinas, diferentes a las que tradicionalmente se vinculan a las competencias artísticas, como la arqueología y la geología.
Participó en exposiciones individuales como ‘Lustre’ (2015) en el Museo Kendal, Cumbria, en la Galería II de la Universidad de Bradford, la Galería Whitechapel en Londres, OUTPOST en Noruega, y CCA, en Glasglow y el Museo y Librería Armitt en Cumbria. En el 2014 fue seleccionada para la exposición del Premio de Dibujo Jerwood.

Gained her MA at Royal College of Art, London in 2010. Kate Morrell’s practice interlaces drawing, text, sculpture, book works and archival research. Her work is centred around forgotten histories and instances of amateur and inaccurate interpretations of historical material. Her interests in material culture and heritage have led her to engage with disciplines outside of the traditional remits of the arts, including archaeology and geology.
Solo exhibitions include ‘Lustre’ (2015) commissioned by Legion TV, London with Kendal Museum, Cumbria; ‘Pots before words’ (2014), Gallery II, University of Bradford. Recent projects have been realised at the Whitechapel Gallery, London; OUTPOST, Norwich; CCA, Glasgow and The Armitt Museum & Library, Cumbria. In 2014 she was selected for the Jerwood Drawing Prize exhibition.
