Realizó un pregrado en Arte en la Universidad de los Andes de Bogotá, una maestría en Artes con énfasis en escultura y procesos interdisciplinarios en el Pratt Institute de Nueva York y una maestría en ciencias en el programa de Arte, Cultura y Tecnología — ACT en MIT, Cambridge. Nicolás ha sido invitado a presentar su trabajo en los espacios expositivos y eventos artísticos en el país, tales como la Biblioteca Luis Ángel Arango, la Alliance Française - Bogotá, 41, 42 y 43 Salón Nacional de Artistas y el Encuentro Internacional de Medellín de Prácticas Artísticas Contemporáneas—MDE07 y NC-arte, Bogotá. Internacionalmente, Nicolás ha sido invitado a espacios como Itaú Cultural (São Paulo), CCA Wattis Institute (San Francisco), Bard Graduate Center (New York), Santral (Istambul) y Havremagasinet (Boden), entre otros, y ha participado en la XI Bienal de Monterrey-FEMSA y la 20 Bienal Paiz (Guatemala) y Les Rencontres de la Photographie —Arles, 2017.

Nicolás has been invited to present his work at exhibition spaces and artistic events throughout Colombia, some of which include the Biblioteca Luis Ángel Arango, la Alliance Française - Bogotá, 41, 42, and 43 Salón Nacional de Artistas, and the Encuentro Internacional de Medellín de Prácticas Artísticas Contemporáneas—MDE07 and NC-arte, Bogotá. Nicolás has also been invited to a number of international spaces including Itaú Cultural (São Paulo), CCA Wattis Institute (San Francisco), Bard Graduate Center (New York), Santral (Istanbul), and Havremagasinet (Boden, Sweden) among others.
