Received her B.F.A at the School of Visual Arts (SVA) in New York, NY. Later, she was awarded a scholarship to École de Recherche Graphique in Brussels, where she studied critical studies and artistic practice. Her work spans a number of multimedia installations and public interventions which address structures of power, identity, unproductivity, contemporary culture, and multi-sensorial perception. In an effort to provoke an exchange between the viewer and her work, Quirola conceives of and creates spaces which elicit feelings of attraction and discomfort. In addition to organizing individual exhibitions such as “our own non responsive faces in grotesquely impassioned perverted expression” (2017) in Brussels, Quirola has participated in a number of collective shows such as “This is not the Omega” (2016), a performative installation presented at Het Veem in Amsterdam, or more recently “Chorus of Cold People” (2017) and “Tasty Breakfast” (2018), both exhibited in Brussels.
